Allied Professional

Allied Health Professional membership is for those who are non-physician healthcare professionals who are actively involved in the various aspects of electrophysiologic care including, but not limited to, Cardiac Implantable Electronic Device (CIED) implantation and/or follow-up, remote monitoring, performance of electrophysiologic procedures, clinical patient management, or research. 

This diverse group’s unique knowledge of the scientific foundation, clinical skills and technical knowledge of heart rhythm management, working collaboratively with their physician colleagues, is dedicated to promoting excellence in the care of patients with heart rhythm disorders.

The Heart Rhythm Society Allied Health Professionals are unique and valued members of heart rhythm teams, whose diverse educational backgrounds include, but are not limited to, the following professions:

Clinical
  • Registered Nurse
  • Advanced practice provider– Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Clinical Nurse Specialist, CRNA (Nurse Anesthetist)
  • Genetic Counselor
  • Cardiac Technician/ Technologist 
  • Pharmacist
  • Medical assistant
  • Psychologist
  • Radiologist technologist
Non-Clinical
  • Biomedical Engineer
  • Manager who holds a medical or research degree with responsibilities for heart rhythm care
  • Research Coordinator  
  • Hospital Administrator who holds a medical or research degree

Incomplete Applications:

HRS charges a $50 fee for partial applications that are not completed within 60 days. HRS will email applicants who submit incomplete applications to let them know which information is missing. An example is a missing CV or resume. After 60 days, the application is closed, the provisional membership is terminated, and the membership deposit will be refunded, minus the $50 application fee.

Allied Professional Council

The AP Council consists of allied professionals serving on committees and subcommittees, working groups, and task forces, and three to five at-large members. The Council helps coordinate benefits for AP members and serves as a resource for information.
