2014 EHRA/HRS/APHRS Expert Consensus on Ventricular Arrhythmias

August 30, 2014This international consensus statement is intended to provide clinical guidance for the management of patients with ventricular arrhythmias. It summarizes the consensus of the international writing group members and is based on a systematic review of the medical literature regarding ventricular arrhythmias.

Ventricular Arrhythmias

This document addresses the indications for diagnostic testing, the present state of prognostic risk stratification, and the treatment strategies that have been demonstrated to improve the clinical outcome of patients with ventricular arrhythmias. In addition, this document includes recommendations for referral of patients to centers with specialized expertise in the management of arrhythmias.

Wherever appropriate, the reader is referred to other publications regarding the indications for implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) implantation catheter ablation, inherited arrhythmia syndromes congenital heart disease, the use of amiodarone, and the management of patient with ICD shocks syncope or those nearing end of life.
