October 1, 2024 – Starting in November 2024, CMS will begin data validation and audits (DVAs) of Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) eligible clinicians and groups to confirm the accuracy and completeness of data reported during the 2023 performance year.
If a MIPS eligible clinician is selected for the DVA, an email will be sent to the assigned Security Official in the participant’s Health Care Quality Information Systems Access, Roles, and Profile (HARP) account. HARP is the secure portal used for MIPS data submissions and accessing performance feedback.
CMS urges practices to log into their HARP account and review whether Security Official contact information is up to date. Additional information about the DVA process can be found in this CMS fact sheet.
Information on how to register for and access a HARP account is available for download.
