April 1, 2020—The HRS COVID-19 Task Force, ACC Electrophysiology Section, and the AHA Electrocardiography and Arrhythmias Committee of the Council on Clinical Cardiology have partnered to provide guidance and recommendations to support rapid COVID-19 response efforts. This joint document, accompanied by a video interview, identifies the potential risks of exposure to patients, allied health care staff, industry representatives, and hospital administrators and describes the impact of COVID-19 on cardiac arrhythmias and methods of triage based on acuity and patient comorbidities.

The joint document provides guidance for managing invasive and noninvasive electrophysiology procedures, clinic visits, and cardiac device interrogations. It discusses resource conservation and the role of telemedicine in remote patient care along with management strategies for affected patients.
