2024 International SADS Foundation Conference
It’s essential to update cardiologists and electrophysiologists on inherited arrhythmogenic diseases (IADs), as our understanding of these rapidly evolving conditions deepens. As knowledge grows, particularly around those that cause sudden death, updating diagnostic procedures and refining genetic testing is crucial. Effective management depends on linking risk stratification with therapeutic strategies and staying informed on the latest research is vital for accurate clinical interpretation. This program will provide critical updates on conditions like long QT syndrome, Brugada syndrome, CPVT, and ARVC.
PROGRAM DIRECTOR:
- R. Greg Webster, MD, MPH
Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
- Identify and analyze the latest scientific advances and innovations in the field of inheritable rhythm disorders.
- Review complex genetic abnormalities known to cause sudden arrhythmogenic death syndrome.
- Discuss evidence-based approaches to variant analyses in putative genetic mutations of unknown significance.
- Discuss holistic approaches in treating sudden death disease, emphasizing the importance of shared decision making and the role of sports restrictions in this process.
