CMS Releases New Resources Related to 2024 MIPS Performance Year Participation and 2023 MIPS Performance Year Data Submission Period
CMS recently released numerous resources to prepare clinicians for the 2024 Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) performance year.
The 2024 MIPS performance year begins on January 1, 2024. Physician performance across the four MIPS performance categories in 2024— Quality, Cost, Promoting Interoperability, and Improvement Activities—will determine payment adjustments to Medicare Part B claims in 2026. Key 2024 performance year resources are listed below:

CMS also recently released guidance materials to assist physicians with data submission related to the 2023 performance year. Although the 2023 performance year ended on December 31, 2023, MIPS eligible clinicians have from January 2, 2024 until April 1, 2024 to submit 2023 MIPS performance data to CMS. Performance in 2023 will impact Medicare Part B payments in 2025.
