2022 Press Release/Statements

SAN DIEGO, August 8, 2022 – Today, the Heart Rhythm Society (HRS) announced the full lineup of speakers and sessions for its first annual HRX meeting, an innovation-focused summit, convening 500 cardiovascular digital health innovators in an immersive, interactive experience. The conference offers clinicians, engineers, product developers, investors, entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and patient advocacy groups the opportunity to examine the latest digital health advancements and share respective challenges, while envisioning future solutions together. HRX will take place in-person from September 8-10, 2022, at the Town and Country Resort in San Diego, CA.

The meeting comes at a time when the rapid development of cardiovascular digital health innovations has created both opportunities and challenges for clinicians, payors, regulators, administrators, and patients.1 As the acceleration in technology further spurs innovation, there is a growing need for an interactive forum that convenes key leaders to exchange ideas, learn, and collaborate.

"We are delighted to bring the full continuum of cardiovascular stakeholders from clinicians to engineers to entrepreneurs together. With an 'intentionally unconventional' spirit, HRX will cultivate a dynamic experience where ideas, solutions and new data around cardiovascular digital health and future innovations can be shared," said Sana M. Al-Khatib, MD, MHS, FHRS, CCDS, HRX Executive Producer.

HRX will offer a variety of cardiovascular digital health programming in both format and focus:

  • Multiple Content Streams: Health Tech: Digital and Beyond, Health Data: Acquisition and Management, and a Digital Health Boot Camp. The entire HRX experience will take place in a single space with a shared stage allowing attendees to float from one stream to another seamlessly.
  • Speaker Highlights: Key speakers include leading cardiovascular digital health thought leaders, Dr. Sana M. Al-Khatib; Dr. Peter J. Fitzgerald; Dr. Nassir F. Marrouche; Dr. Jag Singh; and Dr. Eric Topol.
  • Pitch Competition: Early-stage innovators and start-ups will compete for the crown in the inaugural HRX Breakthrough Innovations in Cardiovascular Digital Health showcase.

"HRX, the first meeting of its kind, comes at a critical time when technology is integral to helping our patients play an active role in their health," said HRS President Andrew D. Krahn, MD, FHRS. "We've seen firsthand just how life-changing digital solutions can be for our patients, and we look forward to how takeaways from this meeting will help propel our cardiovascular field forward."
